Over the past few years, the telecommunications market has seen a significant shift in the demand and utilization of Call Centre applications. The drivers behind this range from increased focus on cost reduction and improved efficiencies, the social media influence on self service and the customer experience and the move to cloud based solutions and applications from a premise based infrastructure.
With this shift comes an intensified look at how organizations are dealing with their customers. Businesses are seeking ways to differentiate themselves through strong customer interactions, new customer collaboration tools, new mediums and social media outlets to engage their customers, and ways to monitor, track and improve customer service with analytics.
CounterPath, recognized globally for their leadership in the softphone space, addresses the Call Centre needs of both operators and enterprises alike with enhanced Bria softphone application, Bria for Call Centres. With the Bria for Call Centre application designed with the “Agent experience” in mind, CounterPath is able to offer organizations an immediate competitive advantage with a solution that is scalable, and easy to deploy, integrates seamlessly into the enterprise architecture, and ensures optimal agent productivity.
Key Features
The Bria for Call Centre application not only provides a comprehensive suite of features, including voice & video calling; a broad range of codecs including HD Voice; security/encryption, including TLS (for SIP signalling) and SRTP (for media); 3rd Party Call Control (to enable a 3rd party Call Centre app to remotely control the Bria client via SIP signaling) and call recording but can be deployed as a standalone GUI-based soft phone client and can also be locked into system tray, so that the Call Centre agent only interacts with a single call centre application.
Other key features include:
Standalone GUI – The Bria for Call Centre application can be deployed as a standalone GUI-based soft phone client, including Call Centre features such as 3rd party call control and auto-answer
System Tray Lock – The softphone application can be locked into the system tray, so that the Call Centre agent may only interact with the Call Centre application; In this instance the call centre application runs in the foreground with the Bria client contained within the system tray, enabling incoming calls to be automatically answered.
Local & Remote Provisioning – Local provisioning, recommended for smaller deployments, allows only the administrator to changes to the preferences settings, preventing Call Centre agents from making unauthorized changes to the application. For larger deployments, remote provisioning is recommended and is handled via a remote provisioning server.
Silent login* – Silent login provides the ability to automatically login to the Call Centre agent using a Windows computer ID and enabling the system to automatically identify the agent without user name and password
Voice Quality Monitoring* - For customers focused on best-in-class voice quality, the Bria Call Centre application offers a centralized voice quality monitoring component as part of the solution, providing real time Mean Opinion Score (MOS) rating of the call quality of each call.

CounterPath’s Unified Communications (UC) solutions allow organizations to extend seamless, real-time collaboration for employees, customers and external business partners. Our applications combine voice and video calling, instant messaging, presence, file transfer, and more into a single, easy to use interface. What is more, these solutions are readily available for a plethora of devices, from desktop computers to smartphones, laptops to tablets.
By enabling quick and easy communications, as well as a truly collaborative workplace, UC benefits can be realized immediately with increased productivity, cost savings and engagement.
Improve Communication
Two of the key features of UC are the availability of real-time presence functionality and grouping communication tools into a succinct platform. By providing real-time presence, employees can see the availability of all other users and their communication preferences. This reduces wasted time spent tracking down available user and leaving messages. When a user is available, a variety of communications options are readily available and escalatable with the click of a button. Start with an instant message and click to push to a phone call or conference call, group chat or video conference. It’s that simple and that easy.
Extend Communications
UC provides advanced communication capabilities for users no matter where they work from – home, office or on the road. With endpoints for desktop and mobile devices, CounterPath ensures optimized efficiency and contact ability with device and network agnostic applications. And advanced firewall and NAT traversal settings to ensure calls and messages make it through, no matter what.
Reduce Costs
While most of the benefits of UC are difficult to tangibly measure – productivity, engagement, satisfaction – there are hard numbers to realize when looking at the cost difference between UC and traditional telephony systems. With legacy voice systems like TDM PBXs costing $30 to $45 per seat per month, IP systems can easily save 25% by routing internal site-to-site calls over the corporate data network, lowering both long-distance as well as maintenance and support costs.
Branding and Customized Solutions
CounterPath branded softphones and mobility solutions enable operators to differentiate their products, grow customer loyalty and increase brand traction. With a plethora of options for our desktop and mobile softphone clients, both factory and graphical settings can be modified to include customization for language, product name, domain, proxy, URL, skinning and more.
